Bill McKibben and Third Act Maine Live on Zoom!!
at Ollie Fall Lecture Series, Tuesday, Nov. 1, 9:30 to 11:30
Dear Friends of Third Act Maine,
The University of Southern Maine Ollie Fall Lecture Series will feature Bill McKibben this coming Tuesday at 9:30 am. He will be talking about the current state of the climate crisis as well as about his new organization for people over sixty, Third Act. As you know, we are proud to be among the many states setting up a state-wide Third Act Group. Bill will tell you about his hopes for this organization and the many things he believes we elders can accomplish—together.
In the second half of the lecture four of us from Third Act Maine, with input from everyone in attendance, will consider the questions of what it means to be facing our own mortality at the same time as both democracy and the planet’s ecosystems are also faced with dire threats to their ongoing existence. We will consider what it takes to stay present to these threats and to take actions to address the changes facing us now and in the near future. And we will outline steps you can take with us in Maine to alter the frightening changes unfolding around us. See sign up directions below!!
